Access to the Community

All access to the Cassique community is controlled through our security gates to protect the privacy of our owners, members, and their guests. Owners, Club Members, guests, and contractors must have a valid credentials and/or authorization for entry.  

Cassique’s access control system and on-duty security personnel provide several options for access to ensure it’s a seamless and simple process for our owners, Kiawah Island Club (“KIC”) members, and their visitors.

The various entry methods and instructions have been provided below.

Cassique Owner and Club Member Access

Cassique owners and non-owner KIC members are able to access the Cassique community through use of RFID vehicle decals, PIN code entry, or with assistance from security personnel.

RFID Vehicle Decals

  • RFID vehicle decals are issued by KIC Member Services. Two (2) complimentary decals are included in the membership orientation packet. New and/or replacement decals are available for $15/each through KIC Member Services.    ​​​

  • RFID decals issued to Cassique owners provide 24/7 access at Cassique’s gate. It also provides access to all of Kiawah Island Club amenity gates (River Course, Beach Club, Cape Club) during their hours of operation.  A different decal is required for access through KICA’s main and Vanderhorst gate, click here for more information. ​​​

 

  • Non-owner KIC member decals will permit entry to Cassique between 6:00am and 10:00pm daily. 

PIN Code Entry

  • Using the callbox kiosk touchscreen, Cassique owners can enter their 4-digit Club member number to gain access through Cassique’s gate 24/7.  This method is useful if you are in a vehicle without a registered decal (e.g., rental, new purchase).

 

  • KIC members can use the General KIC Member access PIN for access through Cassique’s gate between 6:00am and 10:00pm daily.

On-Duty Guard Assistance 

  • Between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., the on-duty security guard can assist with property owner verification and access if needed. 

 

After-hours Access 

  • Property owners who require assistance after hours can contact the remote monitoring center through the callbox kiosk. 

 

  • Select “Remote Assistance” from callbox touchscreen menu to reach be connected with a live virtual guard who can verity identify and remotely open the gate for access. 

Visitor Access 

 

Visitors must have authorization to enter into the Cassique community.  If someone arrives at the main gate and requests entry to visit a Cassique owner or the Club without prior authorization, they will be denied access until their host contacts the gate office for verification.  


Cassique owners can pre-register visitors online to receive a scannable QR Code for gate access, or by calling in a temporary paper pass to the gatehouse.  

Online Visitor Registration

  • Cassique owners may pre-register visitors through the TekControl Visitor Management desktop site or through mobile application for iPhone or Android

  • Pre-registered visitors will receive a link by email and/or text to a QR code they can scan at the callbox kiosk to access the Cassique gate during the dates established by the host owner. Please note, the QR code will only work at Cassique's gate.

  • If you have not already set up your TekControl Visitor Management owner profile, please contact the HOA management office to obtain temporary login credentials. 

  • Please see details below for visitor access to Kiawah and Club amenity gates. 
     

​Temporary Vehicle Pass

  • A temporary vehicle pass can be requested by calling the gatehouse at (843) 768-6145.

  • The temporary pass must be picked up from the Cassique gatehouse during the hours of operation. 

  • Temporary vehicle passes will only be recognized for access during the dates written on the pass.

  • Temporary passes cannot be scanned at the callbox kiosk for after-hours gate access between 10:30pm and 6:30am. If you visitor will need after-hours access, please use the online registration procedure outlined above. 

 

Kiawah Island Club Member Guest Pass 

  • Non-owner KIC members hosting a guest at one of the club amenities in Cassique may call in a guest pass to the Cassique gatehouse at (843) 768-6145.

Service Providers & Contractor Access

Authorized service providers and/or contractors are permitted in the community per the contractor schedule below. Cassique owners can pre-register their service providers or a contractor using the TekControl Visitor Management app or desktop site, or by calling into the security gate at (843) 768-6145. 

Contractor Schedule  
Monday - Friday: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday:  No work allowed

Holiday: No work allowed - click here for a list of holidays 

*If emergency repair is needed outside of the permitted contractor hours, please notify and verify access with Gate Security by calling (843) 768-6145.

Leisure Trail Gate Access

The leisure trail gate, or bike path, is positioned on the asphalt pathway behind the main security gatehouse. The gate is equipped with an access control system providing 24/7 secured pedestrian and cyclist access to the community. 

The leisure trail gate can be accessed with a valid PIN code using the keypad mounted on the column to the left of the gate.

 

Cassique property owners - their Club member ID can be used to access the gate 24/7.

 

KIC members - the general Member access PIN can be used to access the gate between 6:30am and 10:30pm daily. 

To exit through the leisure trail gate, simply press the "EXIT" button located to the right side of the gate. This will disengage the lock, allowing you to push the gate open. 

The gate has automatic soft-close hydraulic hinges, which return the gate to a closed position after passing through. Please do not attempt to force the gate shut as it may damage the specialty hinges. If the gate is propped open or does not close after a set amount of time, the access control system will trigger an alarm and send an alert to the control center until it's lock is reengaged.

Leisure Trail Gate Acess
Kiawah Island Community Association ("KICA") Gate Access 

The Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA) requires a separate decal for entry through their main gate and the Vanderhorst gate. The “KICA-issued” decal is only applicable to the KICA gates and will not work at Cassique or Club amenity gates. 

Cassique owners will need to provide a copy of their valid driver’s license, along with the current vehicle registration (or bill of sale for new cars only) and proof of auto insurance for each vehicle.  Cassique owners can obtain their KICA-issued decals via the following options:

  • Submit your application and required documents online here—Cassique Decal Online Application—then select to have your decals mailed or picked up from KICA member services.

  • Bring a completed RFID Decal Application and required documentation to the KICA member services office to obtain your decal(s) in person. Click here to download a printable version of the decal application.

The KICA member services office is located inside the Beachwalker Center building located at 23 Beachwalker Drive, Kiawah Island, SC 29455. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
